Just a quick plug to tell you that after discussing possible candidates last night, we've come up with the plan to champion Santa Claus is Coming To Town by The Jackson 5 for Christmas #1 this year.

Last year we got thousands of members, and helped Wham! get into the top 10, let's give lil' Jacko a shot at Christmas #1 :D

I can haz moer weekend plz?
So the “weekend” consisted of just a single day off for me, but at least I was able to lounge around for most of the day.
For the first time in quite a while, I never had a morning agenda, or anything to get up for, so spent most of the day doing pretty much fuck all :D
The previous evening after finishing at work, I headed over to West Kensington, to The Famous Three Kings. It’s a big sports pub, and I’d been there once before too see Howard & Dan playing live.
Neil was already there, and had made some Welsh friends.
Lap also joined us.
The occasion was to watch Waves get thrashed by New Zealand at the rugby. We weren’t the only people that turned up for it though, hundreds of people were there when we arrived, and more continued to pour through the doors.
The atmosphere was probably really good if you were already drunk and/or cared about either team, but with no reasonable way of getting a drink (short joining the scrum at the bar for a good 20 minutes), there was no way of rectifying this.
I stood near the entrance to the pub with Rachel and Roy, watching the rugby, and then suggested just before half time that we go find somewhere else to get a drink.
Lap and Neil were elsewhere and enjoying themselves, so without disturbing them, we headed down the road a bit, and went into a pub which was the polar opposite of the one we’d just left.
Totally empty!
As a totally unintended bonus, they were also showing the rugby game :D
After Wales had lost (but not really been thrashed!), the other guys joined us at this pub while we finished our drinks, then we all headed to Northfields to meet up with Christian, Annabel, and MYST in The Pluff.
The Pluff was bust, but not as busy as Friday. Chi and Bels managed to snag one of the bigger tables in anticipation of our arrival.
Myst popped by to do a drug deal with Snape. This resulted in about 10 minutes worth of MYST! toasting :p
Some of us went back to DPEH after this, and some didn’t.
We had a few more drinks back at home, and ordered the (absolutely terrible) food, which I posted a video of in my last entry.
We watched Crank and Crank 2 back to back, but I started drifting off near the start of the second one. The day had taken it’s toll on me, and I headed to bed.
I was quite impressed with myself and how I’d managed to get pleasantly drunk :p
As I said, yesterday was mostly lounging around.
I made a smoothie and bacon sandwich in the morning, then bummed about until after 1, when I decided it was time to get Neil up and use the living room for some Fat Princess and SingStar.
We watched the Barry Island episodes of Sarah Jane Adventures, then Christian came around with the Barry Island episodes of Doctor Who.
We watched a couple of those, but left the 3rd for next time, as we had to get over to Omrith for 8/11.
When Christian got overly tipsy at 9/11, he vowed to stay off the booze until the REAL 9/11 (as in NOVEMBER) , when we’d go to Omrith again.
Christian had long since fallen back off the wagon, but an Omrith trip is always good, so we went regardless.
Neil wanted to drive there, so him, Christian, Andy, and myself suited up for Sunday, and sat in traffic jams for a bit longer than we’d planned for.
We eventually arrived at Omrith, where Lap, Roy, and Rachel had just started their starters.
The staff changed their more traditional Indian music to Doctor Bombay without so much as a prompt. Win!
“Smell Yo Dick” is now my favourite song to hear in Omrith.
The rush to the restaurant didn’t give us time to lubricate in the FHT though. For the first time I can think of, we entered the restaurant sober. Cobra time!
Neil was not impressed by Omrith’s lack of chips. I’d suggested we order some from a nearby takeaway, but he was happy with eating West Kebab before heading out, and McDonald’s on the way home, having some medium curry, and half a naan in the restaurant itself.
After Omrithfun, Rachel and Christian had to shoot off on a 63 to catch their train to Manchester.
Myself, Lap, Andy, and Neil headed back a more sensible route to Ealing, stopping by the criminally absent Thomas H. Arthur’s street first for a Myspace pic outside his front door :p
As we went through Brentford, I suggested McFlurries.
Neil veered into McDonald’s, and we all got something, still wearing our suits (and boxing gloves :p).
The rest of the night involved a few drinks, watching South Park, and playing Buzz!
Got a real weekend next week, and then it’s just another week until by 1 day at work, 6 days off birthday week.
Looking forward to that :D
Happy 9/11!

We're very susceptible to food that sounds funny, so when the menu arrived the other day for Space Pizza, we just had to find out what potato wave, chicken tulip, and hanky panky cake were!
It was actually even less yummy than it might look :{

Yesterday Neil arrived in Ealing. It was his birthday, and he intended to have a "GTA night out".
His birthday had been pretty eventful thus far. Barry had met him in Wales in the morning, having bought a bike on eBay that was located there.
Neil was set the task of driving to London at 40 miles an hour, using no major roads, and trying to avoid killing Barry on his slightly dodgy bike.
At about 8:30, after what must have been a long day for them both, I got a call from Neil telling me they were ten minutes away, and demanding a finishing line.
With what I could (toilet paper) I set up a finishing line, but just as Barry was ready to break through it, the rain did the job for him.
Some frantic fumbling, and intervention from other motorists later, we had a finishing line, and Barry crossed it, ending their journey.
Barry's first request after removing his helmet, a beer.
After a couple of drinks and a bit of SingStar, Barry went it alone on the final leg of his journey, while I took Neil on his GTA night out.
The first activity on the GTA night out was shots.
Shots involved walking into T J Duffy, ordering two large straight vodkas, and drinking them at the bar while the barmaid got our change, then swiftly walking straight out of the place, and stumbling around.
We stumbled into West Kebab, where the new non-English-speaking guy there served us burgers (which we started to eat at the counter).
The next activity was going to be pool, but it doesn't seem any pubs in Northfields contain pool tables D:
We had a look into The Guinness Pub, then finally went into the Racist Irish Pub.
The landlord didn't approve of us being in there, for some unspecified confusing reason, and kept pointing at us, while chatting with the barmaids.
Neil asked what ciders they have. He gave us a disgusted look and replied "STRONGBOW!", even though I saw they had Magners in the fridge.
Two Strongbows it was :p
We left after one pint, the landlord chatting about us on the way out. God knows what he had to chat about though, if we'd been in there an hour later, there'd have been a talking point, but his random disapproval of us was just confusing.
On the way to find pool or darts, we passed The Guinness Pub (a small pub with no name, only a Guinness sign). Neil wanted to go in, but gazing in I saw that all four of the people in there were at the bar chatting together. I wasn't hopeful of a friendly welcome after our experience in the last pub, so we moved on to The Pluff.
The Pluff was absolutely heaving, but I knew they had some form of darts... on the itBox.
We played a couple of games of Bullseye, some Hex, then finished off the night out with a game of pool (also on the itBox).
Back at home, we met up with Andy.
Without going into detail, Northfields estate agents are an absolutely useless fucking shambles, and yesterday they put a LET BY sign outside our house. Pardon?
That wasn't staying!
We hoodied, and masked up (Neil wore his Crip bandanna, I wore a Ninja headband, and Andy went for a hat over the face, and boxing gloves).
We removed the Northfields sign with pliers, and began marching it up to their office.
We got just past The Pluff when a man stepped infront of us, and showed us a badge.
"Police officer! What's going on?"
Andy explained the story (after getting the po-lice to expose his face from under the mask... boxing gloves aren't good for that kind of thing).
"I know it seems like I'm drunk, but I haven't drank at all".
The officer heard us out, and after telling us that he also hates Northfields, let us carry on with our mission XD
As it hit midnight, and Neil became a fucker, the GTA night out was finished with us evading the police, and getting our wanted level down XD
We eventually made it to the Northfields office.
A tipsy couple passing by cheered us on. "They're a pain in the fucking arse" the woman told us.
They suggested some stuff to do with the sign, and took a photo for us :p
It seems like the area is united in their dislike for this letting agency XD
The pole was just a bit too thick to fit through the letterbox, so we propped the sign up against their door, and headed home.
That was Neil's birthday.
Tonight will involve rugby, potato wave, and chicken tulip.
Ask me what potato wave and chicken tulip is tonight, when I might know :p

In coffee shops there are those signs about laptops but I've never paid much attention to what they say before today.
They say:
Thieves love laptops!
Where's yours?
...I don't have one, I'm not a thief, although it does sound like a challenge.

Top Hat
Fred and Ginger, amazingly the first I've ever watched. A brilliant introduction and it kept it up all the way through. As usual with old musicals it's basically a musical show with cheesy filler story in between the musical numbers. So, story aside, the musical numbers are amazing, the choreography is brilliant and the timing and precision of Fred and Ginger's movements is awesome, literally awe-some.
Now that I've watched it once if I ever have the DVD and as far as it is possible the bits where they're dancing will be the most worn out on the disc.
Up (spoiler alert!)
Superbly made and unbelievably sweet, I've been trying to figure out why. It made me feel like a kid again, except I still felt like an adult. It made me feel like an adult feeling like a kid again. A whole life story told in 5 minutes shouldn't make a grown man cry, that alone is worth it.
I want a Dug. I don't usually shout out when watching films but when Alpha Dog throw Dug over the cliff I let out a spontaneous 'No!'. And when Alpha Dog first spoke with the broken translator I couldn't hear anything that he said through my own laughter.

Leave it at that for now.

Hello Sports Fans,
My least favourite day of November is today, but that's alright.
Today I have time to be around the house doing chores and surfing the web aimlessly.
I've wanted to write reviews on films I've watched over the past few weeks and also run down events that happened in Liverpool.
Films I've seen are Up, Top Hat, Fantastic Mr. Fox, An Education and 9. Still have many things to watch as well so I better get reviewing, even if it's only two words.
This weeks Heroes has been the best one since Season 1 and a cliffhanger that makes me want more, MORE, but you do need to sit through the rubbish ones to appreciate it. I'm looking forward to the next one.
House was not on for a second week, but I knew that and I miss it. I did buy a cane make myself feel better (though not exclusively for that reason).
Roll on the rest of November. I love you!

one more thing, I am planning to do nanowrimo, but I haven't started yet :\

Yesterday I was gonna go see This Is It with Annabel, but she was held up at work.
Suited me anyway, as I wasn't exactly looking forward to sitting through a 2 hour long cobbled-together insta-money-generating propaganda video about Michael Jackson.
Instead Annabel came over and I got her to pick out a film to watch. I kinda' rejected the idea of Pokemon The First Movie, and let her pick another one. Labyrinth.
Around 2G5/2G6 I'd watch this as often as I watch KiDULTHOOD nowadays. I'd actually not seen it for a good couple of years though and was well up for it :D
Annabel hadn't seen it since she was about 10, so her memories of it were minimal.
Anyway, awesome film!
We booked Poons Christmas dinner (well, made the enquiry. The manager will get back to us). 17 people confirmed with another maybe that dropped in after that. lol. This is going to be bigger than actual Christmas XD
In about an hour I'm going to go to CEX and sell off Tekken 6.
I do still wanna play it, but I'm short on cash, and they're offering £29 for it.
I paid £40, but I'm pretty sure I got £11 worth of play out of it last weekend :p
The game's price will no doubt plummet by Christmas, and I'll probably be able to pick up the special edition with the hoodie for 30 quid :}
I've already spent part of my Tekken peas. On a haircut. Look at me, being all sensible! :p
Lots of stuff to look forward to.
Neil's coming to London tomorrow for his birthday.
Tomorrow will involve some drinks, Saturday will involve working (I'm training a nub at work) and then rugby and Welsh beer, and Sunday will involve curry at Omrith (what do we need get to enable them to play iPod?).
The following weekend it's Rachel's turn to have a birthday. Don't think there are any solid plans yet, but it's an excuse to get people out :D
Annabel also wants to go to G-A-Y next week to see Mika. Howard texted me saying I should come round to his place in Holborn for some drinks some time. At some point in the next week I plan to do that, and then invite him to G-A-Y, suggesting we stay at his after, so we don't need to have night bus fun :p
Christmas (at Poons) follows the weekend, then after all this is my birthday stuff, Thanksgiving stuff, and more birthday stuff.
November's shaping up pretty nicely. Actually, I might as well sell all my games, as I can't see myself getting much play in during all this :p
I'm sure I had something extra to say, but it's since fallen into the oubliette.
You remind me of the babe!

Yesterday I went to see An Education in the cinema. It was good, and I'd recommend it.
At first it reminded me of a period version of Venus (albeit with a younger, smoother, more well-off nonse), but it went a different way, and was good.
Overall: 4Gs
Today I'm going to see Jennifer's Body. I know nothing about this. Nothing at all. I'm expecting it to be gash though.
Tomorrow I'm seeing This Is It, which I'm already calling This Is SHIT.
Go in with low expectations, and you can only be impressed, that's what I say :D
The Central London Christmas lights are being turned on tonight by various celebrities. Will pop along before the cinema and see what's going down. I wanna see Peter Andre again (and I wanna see if they're still filming him for a second series of his show!) :p
Neil's coming down to London this week for his birthday. I'm working on the Saturday, but that shouldn't stop me having a laugh.
Sunday is the scheduled day of the 8/11 meal. Tom threw the Omrith idea out of the window, so we're waiting for him to give us a sensible alternative suggestion (that doesn't simply involve spouting about Jesus). Will be good to see him anyway. Omrith has now been open for over 4 years, and it's been almost exactly 4 years since the last time we saw him :O
If nothing is decided on by Sunday, we'll revert to the tried and tested Omrith plan. iPod or CD? iPod or CD....?
Poons Christmas is in less than 2 weeks now.
We've moved it from Ealing to Holborn, so as many people as possible to come. If you can come, or know you can't, it'd be helpful if you could confirm or reject Annabel's invitation ASAP, as we're booking tomorrow. Currently there are 13 of us confirmed. Should be a good Christmas :D
Looking towards the back end of November, some more plans have been made for around my birthday.
Sue's invited a few of us to a Thanksgiving meal at her place. Thanksgiving quite awesomely falls on a day that I've booked off work, with no plans (other than to fill the gap between my birthday and birthday party with days off work). Should be a good one :D
That's the current shit that's going down.

I just had the most stressful 30 minutes of my life!
I went out at 1pm to do some shopping for Hallowe'en. At around 3:15 I was on the bus going home when I thought about food, and then I thought about the kettle I had put on before I left, except I didn't recall taking it off. I thought I'd left it on and then left the house forgetting all about it.
Realising this I immediately got off the bus and hailed a taxicab. When that got to Shepherd's Bush roundabout it got a flat! The guy stopped the meter and changed the tyre, which took about 10 minutes, all the while I was worrying that my flat was burning down. I eventually got back and rushed indoors to find the kettle safely on the side and my stove all off.
Fucking Fucking Hell.
Now I'm going to have a nice cup of tea.
